Went here for dinner tonight with my hubby to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Lots of food, we took home enough steak for tomorrow's lunch. Our wait person when she found it was our anniversary brought us a chocolate sundae to top off our meal gratis, which was really nice. My meal was good, it did not exceed expectations. The side salads were typical of a side salad and nothing stood out as being gourmet. We asked for extra bread, which was promptly brought to our table. I like their whole wheat bread with the honey butter. Our steaks, hubby had the Ribeye, and I had the T-bone, were good. Hubby's Rib have been a bit more medium rare than medium on one edge but as he got into the steak it was more medium. My steak was cooked medium all the way through. The side of steamed vegies I had were good, the snap peas were especially good. Hubby got the sweet potato with cinnamon honey butter and that was also good,. My Merlot was dry...I had the Washington state one, and I could taste the oak...perfect with my steak. Hubby tried a margarita on the menu and that was too sweet for my tastes. I've been to LongHorn for lunch before and prefer it for lunch rather than dinner.

I kind of dislike steak houses as I am paying $21.99 for what would have cost me 5.99 /lb at the grocery over the 4th of July weekend. Long Horn is alright though. The Grilled Fontina Chicken is a good value on the lunch menu. It was pretty tasty and came on a hoagie style bun which made it seem a little larger. Seemed to slightly skimp on the fries. It was still enough food. They have lunch sandwich, soup or salad combination that aren't that bad either.

Arrived with a group of nine at 11:15am, had to wait 20 minutes for a server to show up to handle our group. Will probably not be back for awhile.

I don't think they care to cook a steak past medium rare. I have asked on several occasions to finish cooking my steak and always have problems. Twice the strip steak which is now close to $20 tasted tangy, even my children who tasted it spit it out. I don't know why I have kept trying to be happy when chosing LongHorn but it seems to always end badly. They are no longer on much of a wait in the last year and I can see why. We frequently drive from Lee's Summit to Blue Springs to Texas Roadhouse where every time the food is perfect and just how we like plus they are cheaper. I will just have to suck it up and drive and extra 20 minutes to enjoy my food!

I'm a Midwest girl, love my steaks and I am particular about them. But longhorn has probably one of the best steaks ever. Last time I was there was when they were having the 2 for $29.99 deal. We got 2 salads, the cheesy mushroom things (i hate mushrooms but i will devour those, so yummy), 2 steak dinners, I got a med-rare bacon wrapped sirloin, and i got cheesecake for dessert. (That cheesecake was practically orgasmic, plus the serving they give you is huge). All of that for UNDER $40, you seriously cant beat that. Plus the food is all just amazing. Service is always really good too, never had a person that I didn't like, they are always super nice.

Honestly, I usually overlook any chain steakhouse, but we went for a 93 year old's birthday dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. The steak was cooked just how I wanted it and had good flavor. Our entire table had excellent service (something that is less common anymore). The restaurant was clean and we had a great time. He was brought a big dish of ice cream and we got the entire restaurant to sing and clap for him. It was a great time

Not bad for corporate steakhouse. I had the ribeye, it was very good. Seating at the bar can get crazy because they also take care of the high top tables and the to-go folks. The place was on a wait list for a Wednesday night. My only concern was the temperature was set too low. It got down to 68 by the time I was ready to leave.

It is always amazing to me that the bar and that bartender set so much of the tone for an entire restaurant. This is my love hate relationship restaurant. Some days it is off the charts great service, super clean and efficient. Others it is slow with dirty glasses waiting to be cleaned, places at the bar waiting to be wiped down. Now I don't know if it is a mind meld that service effects how the food taste but it sure seems to. Service is great the food is great, service is questionable the food is also. Trust me I understand busy and the ebb and flow of business. It is when there are three customers in the bar and one is waiting for a take out order and the other is with me that I ponder where is the that amazing person who waited on us last time that had no problem keeping up with ten people as well as the restaurant service and kept the place clean. That person is asking me if I am ready for a second beer and the other person hasn't even waited on me yet. What I do now is walk in see how the bar looks and if it is clean and the bartender is hopping to take care of you I stay and life is good. If the bartender is struggling to keep up with even light duty I leave and head somewhere else. See love, hate.

My fiancee and I visited this particular restaurant with a craving for steak. Didn't take too long to get us seated and get our orders in. I got my usual KC Strip, medium. My fiancee went for the filet. The meat was quite tasty, but I seem to have such bad luck with my cuts. I get the KC strip to cut off the fat around the edge and enjoy the tasty meat. This particular piece was about half fat and when I cut into the meat, there was a long strip of silver skin running through it. I didn't complain because I ate all I could and just dealt with it. The server noticed and asked me about it. I showed him the silver skin. The manager came by and offered me a discount. The food was solid, but I'm still on the look out for a good steak in the KC area.

Service was good. Steak was awesome. I arrived at a busy time on a Saturday evening. I was greeted by a friendly hostess. I was told that my wait would be 15-20 minutes and and got a buzz from my pager in like five (nice surprise). The restaurant was nicely decorated and the restrooms were very clean. I enjoyed a slice of the fresh bread and a soda while I waited for the appetizer to arrive. The Grilled White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms caps were positively addictive. I ordered the fire-grilled, bone-in Outlaw Ribeye cooked to a perfect medium temperature. The steak practically ate it's self. lol So so very tender and seasoned amazingly with the 7-pepper seasoning. It came with a delicious loaded baked potato that I couldn't finish. It was either the ribeye or the baked potato. lol Needless to say I left very full and happy with my dining experience. I shall return...

Man, I guess my family are foodies that requires flavorful food, because I've given this restaurant 3 tries in 3 different locations and each time we were extremely disappointed. I guess for the average "American palate" it would taste special, but I can honestly say that the food is bland with a taste of saltiness and that's about it! I don't think that they even use seasoning salt! You can do that if the beef is top of the line and can hold it's own, but the meat is extremely average... You can cook a better steak at home on the grill! The chicken there isn't that good either, kind of dry!

Well, I had an unexpected night off. And I thought, "what could I possibly do this evening to really make it...'top notch'." Prime Rib. Prime prime rib. Oh...that divine slab o' beef. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm. That's would I could do. P - Freaking R--I--M--E Rib, man. So I got on YELP to help find a place that served prime rib in my area. NOT FANCY PRIME RIB (...overseasoned, smothered in sauces, and bullsh**t...blah blah). Just standard, awesome, hearty, flavorful prime rib. With the standard au jus, and the standard horseradish. My YELP app lead me to LongHorn Steakhouse in Lee's Summit. Huh? LONGHORN STEAKHOUSE?! Really? Holy Crap. It was DEEEELICIOUS. I decided to bring the meal home with me, to enjoy it on my back porch. That was a super idea. Really stellar. I had a nice, fresh side salad. They provided me with an ENTIRE loaf of honey wheat bread. The Prime Rib was MASSIVE. And had a side of garlic/butter asparagus. I am glad I was alone because watching me devour that large slab of meat could have been very disturbing for someone. I looked like a freaking over-the-road truck driver who hadn't eaten in a week. I looked like a velociraptor in a jungle tirade. The horseradish was seasoned with some cumin, and/or roasted cayenne. It was great. And the au jus had a touch of rosemary in it...which brightened the flavor overall. My Prime Rib was cooked well. I actually could have ordered it (medium rare - to medium), opposed to (medium). It wasn't overcooked...but I think I would have preferred it a bit more rare. It's hard to know though with Prime Rib. The asparagus was delightful. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. So... Lesson learned. Never assume. Next to Thanksgiving Dinner...this could easily be a meal I would eat before I die. Seriously. It was stupid good. Cowboy up to the LongHorn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait...What?

Would like to rate the food but I have been waiting over an hour for a table after being told the wait would be 5 minutes. Manager comes over and apologizes that his plan got foiled to seat us soon. Then says it may be 20 more minutes. Worst management ever. Avoid at all costs.

After informing the waitress there was a wounded fly in my salad (after eating half of it of course), I was offered a new one. My craving for a salad was gone as you could imagine. The manager came to our table and offered to take it off the bill. Unfortunately, all that was removed was the upgraded salad fee of $2! The steak's were over and under cooked. The staff was polite, but we will not be returning to this establishment.
